Mary O’Neill

Mary O’Neill is a multimedia artist, educator and author. Her wide-ranging practices discuss loss and how we manage to survive despite the knowledge that our existence, and the existence of those we love, is fragile and fleeting. Her recent work is focused
on lost culture and skills. She has a long-standing relationship with The Museum of Leathercraft in Northampton and is currently working on a major project that celebrates the potential of museums as repositories of knowledge beyond the physical objects.
O’Neill has exhibited extensively in Europe and the U.S. She is author of
both fiction and non-fiction.

For the Leicester Textile Festival O’Neill invites members of the public to join
her and a group of students from De Montfort University to create a Wall of
Weaving.

Come along and learn to weave. You can also bring your own fabric to weave into the wall.
