Gather Create Grow

Gather Create Grow is a CIC based in Cosby, South Leics, born out of two grassroots community projects Cosby Crafters and Cosby Yarn Bomb.

Founded by Mel Charnock and Natalie Smith, two fun loving, connection seeking, creatives with a love of colour, textiles, jumble sales and people. Gather Create Grow is an amalgamation of their collective careers and life experience including; TV & film costume styling, community events, visual merchandising, teaching better mental health & crafts for adults & a brief stint sewing gussets knickers!

They say; “It’s important to us that our work has meaning and purpose, we are influenced by our personal experience with mental health, neurodivergence, a yearning for connection and belonging, to ‘find our tribe’ and make a difference.”

Gather Create Grow aims to create inclusive, accessible communal projects which improve wellbeing, reduce feelings of isolation and nurture togetherness.  They run 3 creative community groups each week, as well as designing and delivering commissions and outreach projects with private and public sector organisations, community groups, schools and charities. Their year round work culminates in two annual summer events Cosby Yarn Bomb and it’s Community Togetherness Day.  Find out more about them here:
